What Are AI Credits?
AI credits are required to use Signify's AI features. In this article, you'll learn how AI credits are calculated, where to check your remaining balance, and how to purchase additional credits.
AI credits are used for two main features:
- Document Chat – Ask AI questions about your document's content and quickly get the information you need.
- AI Data Extraction – Automatically extract important information from documents, such as parties, amounts, dates, and deadlines. You can easily search and filter this information later.
How Many Credits Does Each Operation Use?
AI credits are deducted only when an operation is completed successfully.
For AI Data Extraction, the number of credits used depends on the size of the document. As a result, your balance may include decimal values, such as 206.66 credits.

During Smart Bulk Import, each document is processed individually. For example, if you upload 500 documents at once, they will count as 500 separate AI operations.
How Many Free AI Credits Do I Get?
All Signify plans include a monthly allowance of free AI credits.

How Does the Credit Balance Work?
- Shared Company Balance: AI credits belong to the company and can be used by all team members.
- Monthly Renewal: Free credits are renewed on the 1st of every month. Unused free credits do not carry over to the following month.
- Trial Credits: Any unused complimentary credits expire when the free trial ends.
- Additional Credits: You can purchase additional credit packages whenever needed.

Where Can I Check My AI Credit Balance?
To check your remaining credits:
Go to Settings.
Open the Billing section.
In the Limits section, find AI Credits and you can see the remaining balance
You may also see Overspent – credits used beyond your available balance. This is displayed only when your balance is negative.
How Can I Purchase Additional AI Credits?
If you've used all your free credits or need more, you can purchase additional credits at any time.
Additional credits can be purchased by company administrators and users with billing management permissions.
- Go to Settings → Billing.
In the AI Credits section, click + Buy.
- Choose your preferred package: 100, 500, 1,000, or 10,000 credits.
Complete the payment.
Purchased credits will be added to your balance immediately after the payment is completed.
