Learn how to link fields so that when you fill in one field, the same information automatically appears in all connected fields.
What are linked fields and how do they work?
Linked fields allow you to enter information once and have it automatically reflected across multiple fields in the document.
This is especially useful when you need to repeat the same data in several places - particularly when using templates.
Steps
1. Link fields by selecting them
- Select multiple fields at once
- Click the Link button
2. Link fields using a field code
- Click on one of the fields
- In the opened settings, find the field code
- Enter the same code in the fields you want to connect
3. Link fields by cloning
- Click on a field
- Click the Link button
- A cloned field will be created and automatically linked
How to identify linked fields?
- Click on any field and check the settings panel:
- See which linked field you are currently on
- See the total number of linked fields
- Use arrows to navigate between them
- Also:
- If field codes match, the fields are linked
How to unlink fields?
You cannot directly disconnect linked fields.
However, you can:
- Press Ctrl + Z if the action was recent
- Delete the field and add a new one
How to use linked fields in templates?
If your template contains linked fields:
- Fill in just one field
- The rest will be filled automatically
This simplifies the process and helps reduce errors.
Linked fields cannot be used when using Bulk Send.
Management / Additional Actions
Validations
- All linked fields share the same validation rules
- If you apply a restriction (e.g., numbers only) to one field, it applies to all linked fields
Formatting
- Design and size are independent
- You can style each field individually
Field names
- After linking, all fields will have the same name
- The system uses the name of the field that is positioned higher and more to the left in the document
