Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security that protects your account from unauthorized access. With 2FA enabled, you'll need two different verifications to log in:
- Password - something you already use.
- One-time code - a temporary code sent via SMS or generated by an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator).
With this method, your portal becomes even more secure - even if someone gets hold of your password, they won’t be able to access your account without the additional code.
How to activate Two-Factor Authentication:
- Log in to your Signify portal.
- Click on Settings in the top right corner.
- Select Password & Security.
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
When 2FA is activated for the first time, the system will automatically enable SMS authentication to the registered phone number.
You have two options for authentication:
- Authenticator App (recommended) – Google Authenticator generates a one-time code that refreshes every 30 seconds.
- SMS Code (mandatory) – A one-time code is sent to your mobile number.
Two-Factor Authentication can be enabled regardless of the chosen plan.
How to activate Google Authenticator?
Download Google Authenticator on your phone
When activating this method on the Signify portal, a QR code will appear.
- Open Google Authenticator, tap the “+” button.
- Select “Scan a QR code”.
- Scan the QR code provided by Signify.
- Then, enter the 6-digit code generated by the app - and that’s it. You’re all set!
- Click on “Having trouble scanning code?” below the QR image;
- Copy the unique setup key shown on the screen;
- Then, in Google Authenticator: Tap the “+” button and choose “Enter a setup key”;
- For Account name, enter signifyapp.com (so it’s easy to recognize later);
- Paste the copied key into the Key field. Tap Add - and you're done!
If you have an administrator role, you can make Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) mandatory for all users.
Here’s how:
- Go to the Settings page.
- Under Company Settings, select Security.
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
- Click Save.
From now on, all team members will be required to use 2FA - adding an extra layer of protection to your organization.
🎉 That’s it! Your portal is now more secure - from now on, every time you log in, you’ll use Two-Factor Authentication alongside your password.
